Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working on TV and in films is well known for movies like Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of sixteen, she had been offered a variety of television roles including the lead role in Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Her critically acclaimed role in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including the role of the secretary of Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge from the commercially and critically popular Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader is another Oscar nominated film featuring this divas. Alexandra's work has led her to be involved in a variety of important national and international projects. These include British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time as well as the French historic miniseries Napoleon among others. In addition, she is an official jury member for two festivals: the Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
